You are so not my sweetheart!

My awesome teamie, Kim, challenged us to make a Valentine themed project for someone other than the obvious spouse or boyfriend. So I made a pencil embellishment for this HUGE Valentine pencil I found for my daughter.

huge pencil for my daughter for Valentine's Day.

It was a fun little project and I am sure my daughter will love her huge pencil. She loves weird or unusual pencils and pens. I did not put any embellishments on it, like bling or pearls or anything because I know this is going to probably get discarded and I could not bring myself to “waste” my embellies like that..lol

You really have to go by the Challenge Blog and check out what the rest of the team has come up with. LOTS of awesome inspiration to see. They all did a fantastic job with the challenge.

What will you make?

Happy Mail!!

So I am totally obsessed and addicted to Pinterest. If you have not gotten yourself a Pinterest account yet, you do not know what you are missing. It is a virtual cork board basically. It is the bomb in bookmarking things all in one neat, organized place. The cool thing about it is that you add friends and you can see what each other likes and share pins. It is AMAZING! Anyway… enough of the Pinterest plug..lol I came to show you what I found on there that sparked my interest big time. There was a pin about sending cool “Happy Mail” that is 13 oz or less. The lady sent a ball, a flip flop, colored pencils in a water bottle. This totally had me excited to try it. I have two nieces and a nephew all under 10 , that live 1,000 miles away, and Aunt Tracy loves to send them things in the mail. I figured this would be a totally fun project for me. I could challenge myself to see what all I could find to send, and they would have a fun time receiving the Happy Mail. I mean, what little kid does not like getting mail that is addressed to them? I know I always did. Heck, I love getting Happy Mail now.. hey anything that is not a bill is a great thing. I am having fun looking around for cool little things to send without a box or envelope.

Here is the blog that the idea was pinned from, in case any of you wanted to check it out and maybe even join in on the fun. The blog is called Giverslog. Also, just for good measure, here is her Flickr Group, 13 ounces or less.

I regret that I did not get a better, more clear pic of my mail yesterday… I forgot to snap one at home and had to do it quickly with my phone on the post office counter. lol

Valentine Happy Mail

My SIL told me she would start video taping their reactions to getting the mail, how cool!! I can’t wait.

I have to warn you that you may run into a hiccup trying to send certain things. My Post Office refused to send these yesterday because of the lips… Even though I told them to run it like a parcel, not a letter. Told them to just not run it through the machine. She even asked the Post Master and they said no. They tried to say it had to be all one shape..lol Whaaa thaa? Anyway, I knew that was not true…so I drove to the next city over to my fav PO and viola! They took it with no problem and laughed at how stupid my Post Office is..lol Now you do have to pay Parcel post pricing… but it is worth it. These shipped out for $1.95… The smile that it will put on the faces of my nieces and nephew though…Priceless!

So let me know if you try it and what you send. I would love to get a few people I know involved in the fun so we can share ideas!

Until next time..

Peace, Love, and Happy Mail! :)

Guylou’s Winter Wonderland Color Challenge!

Hi stampers!

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and HappY start to 2012!

The Guylou’s Inimitabily DT is back and we are ready to see what you got with a new color challenge:

Dance Like no one is watching

I used the colors to make this card using this beautiful ballerina, Alexandra. The colors somehow inspired me to make this card..lol I have no idea why my brain went here instead of a Winter themed card. Maybe because I live on the Gulf Coast of Texas and it has been shorts and flip flop weather? Maybe if I lived in a place that was Winter Wonderland-ish.. I would have thought snow and ice.

I am so curious and excited to see what everyone creates… so come on and join in and show us what your creative juices produce.

Pop on over to the Challenge Blog and check out all the deets… including an extra bonus prize this go round!
